Eligibility for Admission


QUALIFYING EXAM


  • A. Admission to the first year of the course shall be open to the students,

    • (a)who have passed the two year Pre-University examination conducted by the Karnataka State Pre-University Board with Mathematics as a subject of study; or

    • (b)who have passed 10+2 of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or equivalent with Mathematics as a subject of study; or

    • (c) who possess Three-Year Diploma in Architecture or any stream of Engineering recognized by Government of Karnataka, or any other State Government or Central Government or any other Diploma qualification considered equivalent there to by this University;

    • (d) who possess international Baccalaureate Diploma, after 10 years of Schooling; or

    • (e) Who have passed any other examination recognized by the University as equivalent thereto.


  • B. The candidates shall have secured a minimum of 50 % of marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination. Provided that candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and any other groups classified by the Government of Karnataka for such purpose from time to time shall be considered eligible for admission, if they have passed the qualifying examination giving eligibility for B.Arch. admission with 45% of marks in aggregate.

  • C. Those students, who have passed a qualifying examination other than the PUC II examination of the Pre-University Education Board of Karnataka, have to obtain eligibility certificate for seeking admission to B.Arch. Degree Programme from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi. For more iformation visit www.vtu.ac.in

  • D. Candidates admitted to the B. Arch programme from Diploma streams shall not be entitled to any exemption of any Course of the programme.



APTITUDE EXAM


All the candidates seeking admission to B.Arch. shall pass/qualify the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) or JEE Paper-II examination conducted by CBSE . This condition shall be fulfilled by all candidates including those belonging to Scheduled Castes, scheduled tribes and other classified groups.


 National Aptitude Test for Architecture(NATA)

National Aptitude Test for Architecture (NATA) The candidate should have appeared and qualified for the NATA exam. The National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) is conducted by Council of Architecture, New Delhi (www.coa.gov.in).

Qualifying marks for NATA-2020 would be based on the following rules:

1. A minimum of 32 marks out of 125 marks must be secured in Part A (approximately 25%)

2. A minimum of 18 marks out of 75 marks must be secured in Part B (approximately25% )

3. Overall qualifying marks (out of 200) would be based on post-exam statistics and at the discretion of the Council.

A Candidate will not qualify in NATA-2020 unless he/ she satisfies all three conditions mentioned above.

Validity of NATA-2020 score NATA-2020score shall be valid only for admission in the session 2020-2021

 Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) main paper 2

The candidate should have appeared and qualified for the JEE exam. Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) MAIN is conducted by the NTA from 2019. This Examination was being conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) till 2018.
